Jithin and I teamed up to create a new design team at Motorola's engineering site in Bangalore, and Jithin was key to establishing the right environment for designers to thrive in this new frontier. I found Jithin's patient and selfless leadership critical in getting this team off the ground. He worked to understand the needs of his product and engineering partners and to help them to understand the role of design. He wasn't afraid to roll up his sleeves and deep-dive into projects when needed- especially when we were just getting started and we didn't have enough designers. Most importantly, Jithin worked to enable his design team members to be successful- both in their project work and in their career development. He led from behind, always looking for opportunities to put them in the spotlight so that they could shine.
